Is it breakfast or is it dessert?

It’s both!!! Keep it simple in the morning for breakfast with a cup of coffee or add a scoop of ice cream in the evening for dessert.

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Apples
Ingredients
- 3 medium apples Your preference here! Some people say certain apples are better for baking than others but do whatever YOU like.
- 3 tbsp butter Divided between each apple half.
- 3 tbsp brown sugar Divided between each apple half.
- 3 tsp cinnamon Divided between each apple half.
- ground clove
- nutmeg
- kosher salt
- granola Your favorite kind, I like vanilla granola
- caramel topping For optional drizzling
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Slice each apple in half from stem to bottom. Cut out each core.
- Place each apple half in a small baking dish skin side down (sliced side up).
- Place 1/2 tbsp of butter in the middle of each apple half.
- Top each apple half with 1/2 tbsp brown sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, sprinkle of ground clove, a sprinkle of nutmeg and a pinch of kosher salt.
- Bake apples for 40 minutes. Then, remove from oven and top with granola (however much you want, I like lots of crunch) and bake again for 5 minutes.
- Remove from oven again and serve immediately with your favorite vanilla ice cream. Drizzle with caramel if you dare!
My first seasonal dessert of the fall. Can’t wait for many more.
Enjoy!
